|Motion Title||Establish a Constitutional Review process to review the Party Constitution.|
|Address To||National Executive|
The National Executive will establish a process to examine with members the current Constitution and its appropriateness for the stage of development of the Party. This may include working groups on aspects of the Constitution, engagement and consultation with branches and members, and seminars or workshops. Any Constitutional changes identified through this process will be brought to all members at a Special Session of the National Conference, prior to the next ordinary National Conference.
|Amendments to Motion|
Our Party is nearly four years old; our Constitution was adopted nearly three years ago. Now that the Party has grown significantly in branches and members and that we have successfully contested our first elections under the Constitution, there is a timely opportunity to assess with members how well the Constitution meets the Party’s needs.This could include, but would not be limited to, topics such as branch structure, policy formation, the role of the national council or regional representation.
